Drive the Wood Duck Bus
The Wood Duck Bus is a community bus owned and operated by the Ruby Lake Lagoon Society. It was donated to us by the Sunshine Coast Regional District in 2014 and we renovated it and gave her a new livery and a new quacking horn, so she now not only looks like a Wood Duck but sounds like one too!
Since 2014 the Wood Duck Bus has been used primarily for helping to bring school children backwards and forwards to the Iris Griffith Centre where they come to learn all about the natural world that surrounds us as part of our famous Nature School Program. The bus is also available to community groups for coastal adventures, from the May Day Parade to seniors outings and bird-watching trips and will soon be deployed for our upcoming Nature Tour Programs which we hope to start in the summer of 2016.
We are always looking for new qualified drivers to help us meet the increasing demands and we will happily help train you to get your licence. It is a great way of getting to know lots of new people and is always fun too!
